Woodstock drew on several different sources for its fine Mission/Craftsmen Series, including an art movement from the early twentieth century, and the ancient stories of fine stones and jewels.
The mission part of the Mission/Craftsman Series refers to an architectural and artisan movement in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The Mission movement was inspired by the Spanish missions that dot the California, New Mexico, and Texas landscape. Nearly all missions were designed and built the exact same way, due to limited time and resources. The recognizable style included broad, unadorned walls, projecting eaves, and low-pitched clay tile roofs. The Mission Bells chimes in the Mission/Craftsman series reflect this artistic style with a square roof, long, straight lines, and round bells. The Mission/Craftsman series offers the Mission Bells in bamboo and in a more petite size.
The artisan inspired theme of the Mission/Craftsman Series continues with several other chimes, including an amber chime, a turquoise chime, and an arts and crafts chime. The wind catchers in the Mission/Craftsman Series are delicately beautiful, crafted from the finest stones. The turquoise chimes in the Mission/Craftsman Series are tuned to the Golden Ratio, a concept discovered in ancient Greece and found throughout nature. The Mission/Craftsman series is a great discovery for anybody who like simple, classic forms and tunes.
